WeThinkMedia Welcomes Phantom Billstickers, Adding Iconic Outdoor Brand to NZ Portfolio

MEDIA RELEASE

1 July 2026

WeThinkMedia has announced a new partnership with Phantom Billstickers, welcoming New Zealand's iconic independent outdoor media company into its growing portfolio of premium media partners.

The appointment strengthens WeThinkMedia's NZ AdVantage proposition, bringing together New Zealand's leading television, publishing, audio, programmatic and outdoor media assets through a single Australian-based commercial team.

Founded in 1982, Phantom Billstickers has built a reputation as one of New Zealand's most recognised outdoor media companies, with a nationwide network spanning major metropolitan and regional markets. The business is widely known for its long-standing support of New Zealand's music, arts, events and creative communities.

Alongside its outdoor network, Phantom's Custom Shop division delivers bespoke installations, creative builds and special projects, helping brands create memorable experiences beyond traditional out-of-home advertising.

Jane Stucci, Head of Commercial Strategy & Partnerships at WeThinkMedia, said the partnership further expands the company's ability to connect Australian advertisers with New Zealand audiences.

"Phantom is one of New Zealand's most recognised media brands, with a reputation built on creativity, innovation and a genuine connection to Kiwi culture. Their unique position in the market makes them a natural addition to our NZ AdVantage proposition."

"As Australian advertisers continue to look for meaningful ways to engage New Zealand audiences, Phantom adds another premium channel to our portfolio, complementing partners such as Sky, Stuff, MediaWorks and The Programmatic Bureau."

"We're delighted to welcome Robin and the Phantom team to WeThinkMedia and look forward to introducing more Australian brands to the opportunities Phantom can create across New Zealand."

Robin McDonnell, CEO, Phantom Billstickers, said:

"Phantom Billstickers has spent over forty years helping brands tell stories on the streets of New Zealand, deeply rooted in our local culture, arts, and communities. Partnering with WeThinkMedia is an impactful and scalable way to share that creative spark with Australian advertisers. We’re thrilled to join their premium 'NZ AdVantage' line-up, giving brands a seamless way to launch memorable, street-level campaigns that truly resonate with Kiwis”.

The partnership marks another step in WeThinkMedia's strategy to provide Australian advertisers with streamlined access to New Zealand's leading media brands.

TPB taps WeThinkMedia to simplify trans-Tasman programmatic buying for Australian advertisers

Media Release

25 March 2026

The Programmatic Bureau New Zealand (TPB) has appointed WeThinkMedia (WTM) as its exclusive Australian sales representative, as demand grows from local advertisers looking to access New Zealand audiences through programmatic channels.

The partnership gives Australian agencies and brands a single point of access to TPB’s New Zealand inventory across digital out-of-home, connected TV, audio and display, aiming to reduce the fragmentation that has traditionally made cross-border programmatic buying more complex.

The move comes as advertisers increasingly look beyond domestic scale, with New Zealand emerging as a complementary market for Australian campaigns particularly across fast-growing channels such as CTV and programmatic DOOH.

Under the agreement, WeThinkMedia will represent TPB’s New Zealand offering locally, enabling Australian buyers to plan and activate campaigns into NZ without needing to navigate multiple supply sources or local vendor relationships.

Peter Wiltshire, executive director at WeThinkMedia, said the partnership addresses a long-standing gap in the market.

“Australian advertisers are increasingly looking to extend campaigns into New Zealand, but accessing premium inventory programmatically hasn’t always been straightforward,” he said.

“This partnership simplifies that process, giving agencies a clearer, more accountable way to activate across the NZ market with the backing of local expertise.”

TPB spokesperson Mike Watkins said WeThinkMedia’s trans-Tasman footprint made it a natural fit.

“They have strong relationships with agencies and a deep understanding of how campaigns are planned across both markets,” he said.

“That puts us in a strong position to unlock new opportunities for advertisers looking for efficient, scaled programmatic solutions in New Zealand.”

The partnership reflects a broader shift toward more integrated trans-Tasman media buying, as agencies look to streamline execution and unlock incremental reach across both markets through programmatic channels.
